When we lost tonight my 12 year old son said "the worst thing about this is the racist abuse they will now get". How I wish he was wrong. Amazing young men who did the country proud, unlike some of the "fans".

He’d have practiced taking penalties. He’s a great player and an excellent penalty taker. The true greats of our game have all missed penalties. Also helping to feed hungry children is not politics, it’s just basic human kindness…something this young man possesses in abundance.

When people say suicide must be going up in pandemic, I’ve heard of cases, it shows how far from tragic reality we were pre-pandemic. So, as reminder: 1 in 66 men dies by suicide. Think of a crowded train, a stadium, the street where you live. It has always been a vital issue.

Such a great opportunity

The abhorrent behaviour of nursing staff on display on the BBC's #Panorama tonight is a disgrace to the profession of mental health nursing. There is no place in nursing for such awful practice, and no excuse. Ever.
