Bison hides were sold for industrial use, to power belts for eastern manufacturing. What floored me when I visited #ClaybankBrickPlant Nat’l Historic Site near Moose Jaw was this: bison hide used in belts — chain belts. They still make them to run the machines. #SaskHistory
