USGS geologist David Johnston descends into St. Helens' crater to sample ponded water for measuring SO2 levels. After a 1/2 hr., Johnston and Rick Hoblitt take off.

Less than an hour later, a 4.0 quake sends ice blocks tumbling into the crater.
