First time in #Erie - the only corner of PA I didn’t visit during my time as PA ToY. Looking forward to working with pre-service teachers and future union leaders at the Student PSEA conference tomorrow - and catching up with PAToYs Jennifer Wahl and Joe Welch, NBCT.

Effective teachers don't focus so much on rules, but more on relationships, routines, & expectations. If you focus mainly on rules, you will spend most of the year enforcing them. But if you focus on relationships, routines, & expectations, you rarely have to defer back to rules.

Educators have been going at the pace of a sprint—for the length of a marathon. Especially after the past few years, educators across the country deserve higher pay, better benefits, and more respect.

Besides the many issues with standardized testing. Most students have no idea what they missed on the tests and teachers don't either. And by time they get results students have moved on to next grade. Making it useless to evaluate teachers & districts too.

Rare to see such impressive gains as these: AP World History teachers expanded access to ~40,000 more students, and scores increased significantly – with an especially large jump in the % of 5s. As a result, 36,000 more students earned scores of 3+ this year than last!
