There are more differential impacts that I could mention but I think folks get the key points… today’s decision is not evidence-based, it is not informed by the lived experiences of those who will be most impacted. The decisions are not equitable. Today we have been let down

So most everybody I talk to hates this return to the office announcement but it is actually interesting to see what folks focus on. It really depends on their backgrounds, both personally and professionally. Let's go through the list:

Crofton Steers My main concern: during the pandemic, our organization deliberately recruited folks from across Canada, especially BIPOC talent, and we have been richer for it. What point is there in now forcing these folks into a local office with people they do not work with?

Amanda Bernardo Steph Percival (she/her) Ames@Play We _have_ a public service that doesn't reflect peoples in Canada. This hybrid move, w. seeming face validity, has been handled in a way that is an affront to many, while impacting adversely primarily non-dominant groups in the PS. The impacts will flow over time.
