The fall of Kabul seems prescient of a collapse of American hegemony much like the fall of the Berlin wall was to the Soviet empire. Who will lead and defend the West's way of life now?

Business is undergoing an awakening. It's not enough to be customer centric. We have to be people centric - all people... Employees, Partners, Vendors not just Customers

Hmm £27k doesn't get you far these days and I'm not sure it's such a bad idea for a Tory government to look further afield telegraph.co.uk/business/2021/…

Surely the supply shortages the UK and the cost of living crisis finally could give 'levelling up' a real policy and economic opportunity... What are we doing to stimulate enterprise in the industries experiencing supply issues and shortages? Boris Johnson

Odds on China and Russia synchronising their respective assaults on Taiwan and Ukraine? The West is in a mess. Surely this is the move they're considering

Absolutely fair enough if people don't want to get vaccinated. Shouldn't the NHS be sending them an invoice for their time in hospital though?

Our webinar with David Smith, economics editor of The Sunday Times suggests: There is no sign of the end of the stamp duty holiday having a negative effect on house sales as there is £150 billion of involuntary savings that people are using on deposits. 👉blog.landbay.co.uk/blog/the-econo…

How long will it take Putin to realise he's not just fighting Ukraine and the West? He's fighting the twenty first century. Identity is progressive now not nostalgic, the war is tiktok'd and human life is valued. The past is the past

With Russian banks facing a liquidity crisis might this give China opportunity to buy Russian assets and commodities at bargain prices? Unintended consequences? #SanctionsRussia #ChinaRussia

Jays Shortt (@jaysshortt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

As repugnant as Trump is and as confusing a lot o hi thinking is, he was spot on in demanding Europe rearm and take on it's own defence responsibilities. He would probably also have been a better deterrent than sanctions #UkraineRussiaWar #Biden

Jays Shortt (@jaysshortt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The economic #war the west is waging against #Russia increases the likelihood of a Sino-Russian axis. China will probably buy up cheap Russia assets to help it's liquidity crisis and Russia will end up nationalising more of its enterprise more closely reflecting #China's economy

The UK is in a right mess. I just hope people march peacefully against the government's ineptitude before any rioting returns to these shores #BorisMustGo

Surely taxpayer money would be better invested in giving graduation bonuses to apprentices graduating from schemes in industries with skills shortages than continuing to prop up McDegrees being offered today #reform #Apprenticeship #education

Why on earth is noone considering open ended war bonds to simultaneously a) prevent the crippling effects of austerity b) get a handle of inflation c) finance the Russian economic war we're fighting and d) reflect the urgency of the cost of living crisis millions are facing

Drake owned slaves. Gandhi disliked blacks. MLK had affairs. Wilberforce opposed workers' rights. People like history are complex & are products of their age. And if we don't grow up & stop judging the past by our age, instead of learning from history we'll end up lecturing air.

It's a political open goal and also makes long term economic sense. Which party is going to encourage childbirth? euronews.com/next/2023/03/0…

Jays Shortt (@jaysshortt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

How is it so lost on our political elite that to increase the birth rate and reduce the costs of an ageing population you reduce pension benefits. Having children grows the economy and looks after older generations directly and indirectly. It's been that way for millennia
