Our paper with work by Simon Snoeck and @anthonygkgarcia is out today in eLife - the journal ! We describe the evolution of herbivore peptide recognition by a plant immune receptor, and resurrect the sequence of the ancestral gene from ~28 million years ago. elifesciences.org/articles/81050
Glad to share "Artificial nanovesicles for dsRNA delivery in spray induced gene silencing for crop protection" biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Great team work #SIGS by Lulu Qiao, Rachael Hamby Jonatan Niño Sanchez Angela Chen from UCR and a Big Thank You to Luca & Bruno Mezzeti IPLANTA
I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted a faculty position at Stellenbosch University. As a black academic, I am excited to inspire and be inspired by future generation of Black scientist, but also use my platform to make a real impact #NewPI #BlackInSTEM plantholobiont.com
Another Proceedings chapter just dropped! A discussion on "Phytoavengins" from Brian Kvitko and Daniel J Kliebenstein. If you like avenging, reading this is definitely better than watching Quantumania. 🌱🧪🦸🏽♂️sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
12th Japan-US Seminar in Plant Pathology Brian Kvitko Did you know that phytoalexins and NBS-LRRs/ MAPK cascades are not the fastest microbe/insect response? Instead it is the preformed two-compartment compounds like cyanogenics, glucosinolates, etc. This paper is discussion with Brian Kvitko about alt ideas to classify defense.
Much deserved shoutout to Ryohei Ryohei Terauchi and his team for all their contributions to #NLRbiology Adam Bentham #PlantNLRfest

Thrilled to share our mini-review in the special issue of PMPP. We explore the impact of genome variation on plant-fungal interactions and highlight cutting-edge advancements in characterizing the dynamic genome.
