Glad the weather wasn’t like this for the farm tours we’ve had round recently! Sheep and Cattle are bloody lucky to have four feet today as I certainly couldn’t stay upright with only two, wild wind up on the hilltop but stock still looking as happy as ever!

It’s been a great couple of days at the National Farmers' Union #NFU22 conference, lots of food for thought, discussion and inspiration. Good to head home with a fresh injection of optimism for the future of our industry. Big congratulations to all those involved 👏

Can’t believe it’s been 7 yrs since completing my scholarship, but the finding are still key to how we’re driving the sheep enterprise on farm forward with implementing the lessons learn during my time with Nuffield proving so important to its success

Ewes went back onto a grass rotation 4wks pre lambing after wintering on fodder beet. So far🤞first week of lambing’s gone well despite some rubbish weather! 2nd wk twins/triplets off their round today and into lambing paddock. Some busy days now tagging & recording #lambing2022

It’s been a tough summer with the drought but with more rain in 3days last week than we had in the previous 3months things will hopefully pick up now. The diverse herbal pastures on farm have really proven their worth again providing forage in dry conditions

Getting stuck into the shit jobs as well as the good! Replacement ewe lambs in today for enzo/toxo and individual FEC samples, I’m a bit smelly now… but, got to tag my 1,000th calf born on farm, feels even better when I’ve not had to assist one since the 400’s over 7yrs ago!
