Meet Joao. We first met Joao, when he arrived as an asylum seeker & was sleeping on a cot on floor of a basketball stadium in Portland Maine. He is now getting a great education at Baxter Academy, & is working as a chess coach, teaching other asylum seekers the game of chess.

My Saturdays are definitely busy doing my chess things. My school assignment must be done Fridays, Sundays, 6am mass. 12-2pm, get my hair plated. 3-4pm, #hermovenext classes. 4pm to 6pm catechism. ⁦The Gift of Chess⁩
