Today, the City Commission will consider for the third time this budget cycle raising Tallahassee’s property taxes.  For the third time, I will vote No.

Greatly appreciate Commissioner Jack Porter's leadership in working to remove parking minimums here in Tallahassee, and Commissioner Jeremy Matlow's support. Removing these minimums will make infill development easier, and lessen the drive and demand for more sprawl.

After consultation with weather experts and our school leaders, we have made the decision to close our schools at 1:00pm today (5/13/24) due to the possibility of severe weather this afternoon. Parents can choose to pick their students up early if necessary.
