The fact that this isn’t self-evident and accepted is disturbing.

Good news from folk who walked the Cascade Trail which just re-opened after March feral animal control: no signs of feral horses, deer or pigs where in previous years they regularly saw piles of horse manure.
Trail-side grasses long & healthy.
Anecdotal, but an encouraging sign.

Dear @Tanya_Plibersek, I have also visited Lee Point. It's a gem & right in the middle of a regional city! What so many around the world would give to have such a cultural & environmental treasure, with untapped education & nature-based tourism potential.

Please, save Lee Point.

Horses are beautiful, but they don’t belong in our national parks. They’re killing our precious native animals and plants, including critically endangered species like the iconic corroboree frog.

I strongly support the actions of Penny Sharpe to reduce the number of feral…

A fire ant and a feral horse walk into a bar...
I'm loving this cartoon by Firstdog Onthemoon in the The Guardian today which seems to be an uncannily accurate portrayal of my work life at the moment: theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Some great letters in the Mercury today calling on the Tassie govt to overturn the law protecting feral deer & get on with culling them to protect Tassie environment, agriculture & road users.
Oh, and another saying wombats are the real problem...🤔

I just did a chopper flight over northern Kosciusko NP with the NSW Upper House Inquiry into Feral Horses. In just a short time I saw hundreds of horses and so much destruction! It’s an international shame! Kosci is one of our precious National Parks not a horse paddock

So Invasive Species Council through its campaign Reclaim Kosci shared aerial pics showing damage by brumbies (feral horses) to Kosciuszko National Park.

The 1st pic is one of them.

The 2nd and 3rd pics are mine, showing how brumbies turn pristine alpine vegetation into worthless mudheaps

Short 🧵because who wants to read a bloody essay

There's a thing some of you saw this week but you need to know the full quite hilarious story.

It's about cookers getting totally cooked by their own misinformation. Absolutely barbecued. It's the Easter gift we all needed.

Alarming aerial images have been publicly released by Airborne Logic showing the destruction caused by feral horses in Kosciuszko NP.
Almost everywhere you look there are webs of horse tracks scarring what is meant to be a pristine landscape.
We've pulled them together in a🧵👇

Check out the incredible destructive impacts of feral horses on our alpine rivers in Kosciuszko NP.
This aerial photo from Sept 2023 shows ~50 feral horses between Mosquito & Gurrangorambla Creeks.
They are turning a national park into little more than a degraded horse paddock.

Reclaim Kosci Thank you very very much Kellie Sloane MP - Member for Vaucluse and Matt Kean MP . We own a reserve next to Kosciuszko and we strongly support NPWS in their efforts to turn a horse paddock back into a national park. bravo to the Liberals for taking a principled stand on this matter.

🧵However, after some great work from many Liberal MPs who care deeply about our native animals, the Liberals ended up all walking out from the vote meaning that it was soundly defeated 9-20.

Last night there was a really important moment in the NSW Parliament for the wildlife & waterways of Kosciuszko National Park which we want to share with you: the Liberals took a principled position to split with the Nationals on a vote & defeat a motion...
