The Norway MFA, Swiss MFA & participating UN organisations delegation then traveled to Ikungi District, where they met graduates of UN JP Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment’s Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET), child caretakers from Puma & Ikungi childcare centers & women trained on leadership.


Ikuwo group is a womens group who have received TVET training from UN JP Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment. These women have reaped incredible skills and benefits - by learning how to make essential goods such as lotion & soaps, which has strengthened both their food and financial security. #ZeroHunger




At Mnang’ana village, Norway MFA and Swiss MFA visited a home kitchen garden & an innovative sunflower farm. 🌻 They witnessed firsthand how UN JP Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment women farmers learn to grow & sell high quality, pure seeds - boosting local agriculture & empowering communities.💪 #ZeroHunger


Wrapping up in the mainland, the delegation heads to Zanzibar to continue engagements on women’s empowerment & food security under the UN JP Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment program. In Zanzibar, the project strengthens women’s capacity in the seaweed 🌊and horticulture value chains 🥕🍅. #ZeroHunger
