Tanzania - Zambia electricity interconnector is being built. When I was at Ministry of Energy, we completed procurement for a line from Iringa to Tunduma/Nakonde to Sumbawanga and contractors are on site. Zambians need to bring the line up from Kasama to meet ours at Nakonde.

Lives of diplomats are peripatetic. Today we sadly said goodbye to our good friend, H.E. Marco Lombardi, Ambassador of Italy to Tanzania, who did a superb job to elevate our relations. And we welcome new Ambassador of Vietnam to Tanzania, H.E Vu Thanh Huyen. We wish her success.

Nilipokutana na Waziri wa Mambo ya Nje wa China Mhe. Wang Yi, alinijulisha kwamba Serikali ya China, kupitia Ubalozi wake nchini, itatoa msaada wa $500,000 au shilingi bilioni 1.3 kwa ajili ya kuwasaidia wahanga wa mafuriko nchini. Tunawashukuru sana ndugu zetu wa China.

I twice interacted with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian. I’m saddened by the news of his passing in a tragic accident that also took the life of President Raisi. I join our President, H.E Samia Suluhu, to express our condolences to the Government and People of Iran.

I arrived in China at the invitation of Foreign Minister H.E Wang Yi. I’m here as 🇹🇿+ 🇨🇳 celebrate 60th Anniversary of solid, all-weather relations. I’ll meet my counterpart & leaders of key government institutions and private entities to take measures to solidify our relations.

I was pleased to meet Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DRC, H.E Christophe Lutundula. We agreed to conduct a binational forum on trade & movement of people between our countries. We also debriefed on efforts to advance peace and security in the region.
