It's far nastier to paint over a children's Disney mural at an asylum seeker dentention centre than to take down a portrait of Thatcher at 10 Downing Street. Tell me I'm wrong.

The painting of Margaret Thatcher has been moved to the kitchen which is a problem as my milk keeps disappearing... bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Single word judgments may have gone but I will never forgive the negligence of the failure in duty of care for school leaders. Irrespective of the outcomes, we all paid very high personal and emotional costs and that should never be part of anyone’s job description

If stopping the Winter Fuel Allowance can save the economy, imagine what cracking down on the 50% profits the Energy Companies are making could do.

Just a reminder that rewards can actually harm intrinsic motivation. Children don't need certificates, stickers, prizes for things that they enjoy doing for its own sake. Just recognise, acknowledge and verbally praise a job well done, good effort etc. It's cheaper too. 😎

Everyone seems ready to threaten and criticise HTs. Their job is huge. The responsibility is huge. The stress is huge. The support is not. Be kinder.

On 22nd September 1934 at Gresford Colliery, Wales, an explosion killed 266 men & boys underground. 6 survived and only 11 bodies were ever recovered. The wages of all were docked by half a days pay by the owners because the men had 'failed to complete their shift.'

If you're a millionaire walking past an individual experiencing homelessness you have three options. 1) take a photo and tweet it. 2) help the individual. 3) stop hoarding wealth, stop avoiding paying your fair share of tax, and realise that you are the problem.

"Now one expert has told BBC Scotland News he expects the bridge will comfortably exceed its expected 120-year lifespan." Typical BBC talking down Scotland 😡

Adrian Bethune MCCT This is a drum I have pounded for decades. Children do not need extrinsic rewards..... but they DO need recognition for their efforts. People say behaviour is communication. I've always said behaviour is an invitation to respond.

When adults hear the word "boundaries", we tend to think of behavioural boundaries. What matters most for children's developmnt is *emotional boundaries*. The thing is - we adults don't tend to talk abt these. We often don't even see ourselves exercisng them. #DaringVentures
