On 17 June 2025 Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services had a briefing in parliament on Annual Performance Plans and Budget for 2025/26

The Committee congratulated JICS on it's first Annual Performance Plan and Budget for 2025/26 since becoming a National Government Component and claiming independence from The Department Correctional Services 🇿🇦

It is with great excitement to announce JICS's structure approval. The approved structure will afford JICS the opportunity to reinforce capacity and enable effectiveness in performing it's core duties.

To perform effectively and fulfil it's mandate JICS is embarking on recruitment to fill vacant positions. 8 permanent posts and 108 (ICCV) contractual employment. JICS appoints ICCV for each Correctional Centre; in figurative terms, ICCV/s are the “eyes” and the “ears” of the IJ

JICS believe in empowering its staff, a BID Committee PFMA training will be conducted for 20 JICS employees to foster appropriate working ethics.
