It’s a very striking contrast to, say, Margaret Hodge on ITV saying that members of the public shouting at her on Twitter reminded her of her relatives fleeing Nazi Germany, and bragging about roaring abuse at her boss. A really wildly different reaction, isn’t it.

Solar + batteries will be providing most of the power in most countries before anyone can rally any other energy source as an alternative. This fact has been apparent for a while.

The fact that this didn’t happen is a major indictment of the Biden administration. More focused on preserving norms and civility than holding Trump accountable for trying to overturn an election.

Cannot emphasise how bad this is. Our costs for electrification are dire entirely because we only do it in boom and bust bursts. If you have to train a workforce of 1000s every time you want to do a project it’s always going to lead to cost blowouts as they start from scratch!

Labour HQ can mock “Your Party” but it is an enormous failure that the Left has felt it necessary to set up an alternative. Even Blair managed to keep Labour a broad church. “Your Party” isn’t just a new party - it’s an indictment of Starmer’s immoral policies and dire leadership

mental that it's a widely-document open secret that israel actively spies on and interferes with the domestic politics of even its closest allies, and we're meant to believe that even using the term "israel lobby" is antisemitic

To recap: the Labour Party used to be free of antisemites. Then it suddenly became jam packed with antisemites.. Then Starmer cleared out all the antisemites incl the Jewish ones. Then he said he was going to recognise Palestine so Labour is jam packed full of antisemites again.

💰 How much public wealth do you think was given away for free via Right to Buy?  1bn? 10bn? 100bn?  Try 200 BILLION pounds.  🧵 Here's how Britain’s most infamous housing policy became its biggest housing disaster — and near the largest privatisation in British history.

The council house sell off with non replacement is a major factor in creating the housing crisis in our country but to see how much it has cost is startling. Excellent piece of research that hopefully policy makers will now take to heart and learn some lessons from.

You can’t power a state on fantasy. Nuclear: 10–15 years out Coal: No new builds planned, anywhere Gas: 5–7 year delays States banning solar & wind are picking losers—and guaranteeing failure. When gas finds out they're the *only* resource a state will allow, prices skyrocket.

If Corbyn doesn't do a weekly catch up from his allotment for YouTube etc this time round, then what are we even doing here? Ten minutes, is all: chatting about plants, and quietly setting the political agenda for the week ahead.

Are batteries cheaper than gas for flexibility in the GB market? Below the average delivered price of generation turn-up from the control room in June.

I’ve just finished marching on the Palestine demonstration & have come to Parliament Square where people are being arrested for peacefully protesting against the proscription of Palestine Action. It’s a disgrace that people are being arrested for upholding our democratic rights.

This is one of those days when you feel the contradictions tangibly heightening. Think of the sheer amount of resources mobilised to arrest and process this many peaceful protestors. The police aren't here to protect us, they're here to protect elites *from* us.
