Most of the harm in the world is done by good people, and not by accident, lapse, or omission. It is the result of their deliberate actions.

Huge congratulations. This woman is a genius & the government should be breaking her door down asking for advice. Old fashioned discipline, respect, consequences & hard work. It pays off. Well done all these brilliant kids too.

Everyone ignores the employer NI. Easy task #1 for a competent chancellor. Replace income tax and NI with a single "Tax against work". Replace dividend tax with "Tax against investing" and savings tax with "Tax against prudence". Language and presentation matters.

This is excellent from Jack Rankin MP 🇬🇧 Practical matters must have a philosophical backdrop. Coincidentally I have this morning planted an oak sapling in the house I hope to leave to my children. It's my right to deliver that value to their kids' kids' future.

This is what passes for "analysis" in The Labour Party grassroots, and informs the backbench clownshow. History is important, and this account wants to obliterate middle/working class economic development from 1215 to 1944. x.com/IsabelPat1886/…

Another terrific thread from Students for Liberty. Guess which economics is vigorously excluded from A-level syllabus in favour of Keynesian and Marxist frameworks? Yes, the Austrian one.

This is the conversation we must embrace. As Friedman said, the market failure in economics is on the demand side. There is no reason for the state to own or to direct the supply side. We must enable parents to demand education. That is all.

Rachel Reeves needs to find cash fast. A wealth tax really is her only viable option | Faiza Shaheen | The Guardian Actually, there’s a very simple way to avoid any of this. She needs to cut the Government’s huge wasteful spending. Problem solved. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Interesting Either Quebec is incredibly right wing Or, school choice is a liberal position, not a "left/right" one. And denying choice is authoritarian

The same children that need protecting from fake or hurty news, are going to be jolly well told what to think by teachers. Because no teacher has biases, all teachers can be trusted to teach kids how, not what, to think. Parents: read James Clavell's Children's Story.

Back in Dec 2023 we asked: "Is it plausible for there to be such a huge discrepancy between the policy agenda of Labour's think tanks & Labour's positioning? Is Labour's anti-tax rhetoric a false flag? It seems as if Labour's market friendly rehetoric was a false flag

Isabel Paterson Sam Newman Good God, that might be one of the most chilling things I’ve ever read. State overreach dressed up as ‘helping struggling parents’ & rigid state sanctioned curriculum with no variation or choice that aims to ‘raise standards’ are state sponsored disempowerment of parents.
