in 1912 the RMS Titanic sank with the loss of nearly 1500 lives , one survivor was young Daniel Buckley from Cork who sought to make his fortune in America. Buckleys luck wouldn't last as he died in WW1 serving for his newly adopted country.

One of my favourite smuggling stories is the ghost of Herstmonceux Castle. The ruined castle was a base for smugglers and the ghost was a luminous painted costume. The ghost would make occasional appearances to ensure no one approached the castle. Very much a Scooby Doo vibe.

A ๐Ÿ“ธ I took a while back of Kilkenny Castle ( approx) in 1366 the Statutes of Kilkenny were passed. These laws hoped to prevent Norman settlers from becoming more 'Irish'. Intermarriage was forbidden and the use of native Irish dress and language discouraged.
