Wael Dahdouh's cameraman Samer Abu Daqqa, was also wounded in the attack and is said to be in critical condition, but remains inside Haifa school, which is surrounded by Israeli forces.

Al Jazeera is calling on Israel to halt its assault and allow medics to reach him.

BREAKING:

Al Jazeera journalist Wael Dahdouh, who's wife and children were killed in Oct, was just shot by Israeli forces and has been hospitalised.

Another wounded journalist is in critical condition.
