I met a woman who said, with tears in her eyes, that she lost her husband 26 years ago. As I was about to say something to comfort her, she said, “And God has been so good to me.” It takes serious faith to say those words. It shook me to my core.

I wish I knew ye's address so I could send him a Memento Mori prayer book. He needs one before he gets in too deep with prosperity gospel trash. ☠️⚰️⏳

"Catholic Twitter" is the Body of Christ online. That's forgotten sometimes when we talk about it as if it's a toxic cesspool. Being Catholic, online and in real life, entails living in communion with people we disagree with—people who are sinful. But it's not what's primary.

Also, I'm not attacking Timothy, I'm sure he just was trying to understand. Gratitude for what we have is real. But prosperity gospel that leads people to believe that God will bless them if they follow him with material possessions is poison.

A wise sister once told me that God will never ask you to enter a community He hasn’t introduced you to. It’s a process of meeting, visiting, praying and talking with the sisters. For me, I felt closer to the Lord praying with the FSPs than I’d ever been before.
