Can someone be bold enough to tell BEYONCÉ one day that she is going about things the wrong way? She is talented but this below is just balderdash and cringeworthy. This doesn't help black people. Let her act in a Marvel movie instead.

My next chapter: heading soon to #Harvard to teach public policy (macro) at HKS. My ID number as professor is the exact same one I had as student there more than 25 years ago! Humbled but excited to work with great minds while also doing research on issues of relevance to Africa.

My big brother brought his gf home last year. She was an immediate hit. Said little, laughed much. A Master's degree student & banker. She would join my mom & her sisters in the kitchen. My old man would call us (me & my brother). This is what he had to say:

I’m thrilled to announce a new project: The #MichelleObamaPodcast with Spotify! It’s been a tough year and I hope this podcast can help us explore what we’re going through and spark new conversations with our loved ones. I can't wait for you all to listen on July 29!

My mum doesn’t realise how much of a badass she is. She trained as a professional secretary, worked in construction, manufacturing and became a production analyst in oil & gas. Then went back to school!

We have mastered the art of illusion so much in Nigeria and I wasn't surprised about 419 fraud. That deception is why most Africans are also afraid but don't realize that it is really just an inferiority complex. The louder a Nigerian is, the poorer he is. True wealth is silent.

I don't think Africans are ready to have the hard conversations about wealth creation on the continent yet. For us to do that, we must free ourselves from entitlement. Aid has NEVER developed any nation or continent. Most of our ”venture funding” is disguised aid from DFIs.

Osaretin Victor Asemota (@asemota) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Every other thing now is a distraction and simply a waste of time. Companies will not grow no matter how much money pumped into them if unknowns remain unknown. Most of the Aid being pumped into Africa is to harvest data and knowledge to build products to sell back to us.

I think startups in Africa need a lot more than money or mentorship, they need data and introductions to partners. I have spoken to several startups this month and I keep seeing a common thread. Too many overlaps with other startups they could just partner with. Far too many.

This isn't a sequence in a racist movie. It’s real life in 21st century African politics. Most members of Parliament voted for this. I once told my World Bank colleagues that we, economists, needed psychologists on our teams… #Chad’s GDP per capita (constant) was $800 in 2019.

Growing up, too many kids have their career aspirations limited by the examples they see around them. When the destination is invisible, the path feels impossible. Introducing new role models today expands options for tomorrow. This is how to show kids what's possible.
