My heart goes out to all those affected by the floods in Afghanistan. The flood has destroyed more than 2,000 homes and the death toll continues to rise.

IOM Afghanistan and partners are working to provide lifesaving aid, including temporary shelter, to people in need.

All children deserve a chance to thrive and succeed, regardless their migratory status.

I am proud of our work with Sesame Workshop to enhance early childhood development and support children’s reintegration.

Bangladesh has a rich migration landscape.

And IOM is here, working with the government and our partners, on all aspects of it. Thanks to all who help make it happen.

Another sign of our great partnership with Bangladesh, which is celebrating 50 year anniversary of joining the UN: a new common office space for all UN agencies.

This great move will help us be more efficient and effective for the people we serve.

Bangladesh, a country with a complex migration landscape, is one of the first to be a champion for the Global Compact for Migration.

It is also where we launched #WMR2024 , as we seek to shape the narrative on migration around data and to make the world better.

A great honor today to meet HPM Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, whose leadership helped create the Global Compact for Migration.

She has a keen understanding of how safe, regular and orderly migration benefits communities, regions, and the world.

I am inspired by the beauty of the cultural heritage of the Rohingya people.

Today, I visited the Rohingya Cultural Memory Center, a place that preserves the stories of the Rohingya refugees.

Resettlement is often an important pathway for vulnerable people.

This new resettlement center in Cox’s Bazar will make a difference for Rohingya refugees, and it is a sign of how IOM stands with them.
