A Heat Advisory is in effect for most of the Quad State this afternoon, with conditions similar yesterday expected. Storms could provide some early relief across the northern half of the area, and could produce torrential rain and locally gusty winds, as they build southward.

The highest heat indices of this extended heat wave are forecast to be early next week, with commonplace 110 to 115 heat indices. However, relief is in sight with highs in the low to mid 80s and heat indices below 90 forecast for Friday into next weekend.
