As we prepare to mark International Day of the Disappeared #IDOD 🗓️Friday, August 30, we remain cognisant that behind every missing person, there are many suffering from the anguish & uncertainty of not knowing the fate & whereabouts of their loved ones.

Thousands of people around the world🌍 are missing today. Many of them never return & are never heard from again. The issue remains one of the most damaging & long-lasting humanitarian consequences of armed conflicts, other situations of violence, disasters, or migration. #IDOD

Every missing person leaves loved ones in anguish! In 2023, the Red Cross & Red Crescent movement located 16,600+ people and reunited nearly 7,900 with their families. On this International Day of the Disappeared, we affirm our solidarity with those still missing. #IDOD
