I hate to say it but Orlando needs Nickeil. Smart wing who shoots 40% from 3 and defends like hell on what should an MLE contract, tops. Suggs/Black Bane/NAW Franz Paolo/Isaac Carter/Mo Sign and trade for Goga to shore up our bigs depth would be a really nice return for MN.

Houston was the best landing spot for KD. He’s got the clearest role there, they have the cap space to extend him, and they kept all their young pieces so can still play the long game. Glad MN didn’t overpay for a guy who didn’t wanna be here. But what’s next for the Wolves…?

In Connelly we trust. Beringer has incredible fluidity for a guy his size. If he can learn from Gobert while working on his shot and offensive game, maybe we’ve got something here.

Gotta think the 14th roster spot is Bones and that’s how they start the season. Connelly is going to force Rob minutes as he should. If at the deadline, they need some juice for a playoff push, that’s when they should kick the tires on Brogdon, Russ, Simmons, etc or make a trade.

Camara, Jrue, Avdija, Grant, Thybulle, then Clingan? That’s an amazing group of defenders. I think Portland is definitely on track for a top 5 D. Other teams will try to mimic full court pressuring the Wolves, but besides OKC, who can do it better? Big test to pass last night.

I think when healthy, the Wolves should make Clark the 5th starter. That gives Jaden more usage, something he’s proving he’s earned, and gives us another hellacious defender in the starting line up. Clark can knock down open 3s. Ants PG anyhow, cuz Donte certainly isn’t.

Seems like with Ant as lead guard, the biggest need for the Wolves is a back up 5. Naz n Julius aren’t 5s, Joan isn’t ready. Favorite realistic targets: Goga Bitatze Day’Ron Sharpe Olynyk Jalen Smith Looney Duop Reath RWIII Powell Adams Capela Hmmmm: Ben Simmons Slomo

Finch. Your team leader does not know the rules of basketball. When can you run the baseline? When can you cross half court on an in bounds? This is a problem.

Josh Minott Matteo Spagnolo Wendell Moore Jr Jaylen Clark Leonard Miller Terrance Shannon Jr Rob Dillingham Joan Beringer Rocco Zikarsky These are Tim Connellys draft picks that we didn’t trade. So far, only Clark looks like a playoff contributor. Gotta do better.

I think this FO thought they were slick trading up for Rob to get a major asset when they were pushed against the cap. But it’s like buying shit you don’t need on sale. Given the way they talk about drafting Joan vs Rob, seems like they never really did the due diligence on Rob.

Know who the Wolves could use right now to help the non-Gobert minutes? Ryan Kalkbrenner. Averaging 9pts, 6.5 boards, 1.8 blocks in 25 minutes per game on 79% shooting. He was right there at 31, but we went with “cash considerations” instead.

Donte/Bones/Conley Ant/Dosunmu/Clark Jaden/Shannon/Ingles Julius/Naz/Phillips Rudy/Slomo/Beringer I think they go 10 deep the rest of the way, but Ayo, Naz, and Slomo are the playoff bench.
