Good afternoon from Yumbe! Ahead of the official launch of the #ProtectSRHR project in Yumbe, we stand united with our consortium partners to join in this bold journey of change, targeting refugee settlements in West Nile, where young girls and boys face sexual violence.

Today marks the official start of implementing the #ProtectSRHR project together with World Vision Uganda, the IRC - International Rescue Committee and Humanity & Inclusion_East Africa Region. This project is here to transform the lives of young people through challenging negative social norms, improving sexual reproductive health

I’m glad to see the #ProtectSRHR consortium pushing for a more responsive future by focusing on economic empowerment and changing harmful social norms. This means creating a brighter, more equitable future for young people, especially those living with disabilities.

Yumbe, with its largest population made up of young people, is facing high teenage pregnancy rates and early marriages. This calls for urgent action! Through the #ProtectSRHR project, we’re working to transform harmful social norms and create safe spaces for these young people.
