On 8 May 1941 #Hull woke up to the first morning of the Hull Blitz. The tower of the Prudential Assurance building (housing the offices of Smailes Goldie) marked the grave of 16 people sheltering in its basement. We remember them, and many others. Hull Maritime Hull Libraries
