Day 5 of #BlackHistoryMonth and we go back to the FWW with Lionel Fitzherbert Turpin. Born in Georgetown Guyana, 1896, he found his way to Britain & it is thought as a merchant shipman. On 5th August 1915, Lionel enlists for war aged 19 years and 5 months. He is living in 1/7

This week I visited British Army 🇬🇧 Initial Training Group (Army) ATC Pirbright, where I chatted about Mental Health, and Welfare to lots of recruits and also permanent staff. I also got to see some old muckers from Duke of Lancaster's in their new home at Elizabeth Barracks.

What a great sum of money raised for an even better cause. So good to see events of this nature become part of our DNA again after being without them for so long.
