Some great whiskies were enjoyed at our November club night. Great to see some new faces there. The Wm Cadenhead Ltd Benrinnes 20 narrowly pipped the Chorlton Highland Park 22 for dram of the night. Thanks to Robert for the lovely HP 13 single cask as a bonus dram.

What a great monthly club meet we had last night. Thanks to Mike Grubb for providing whiskies from of the 6 nations competing in the Rugby. Turned out to be 5 great whiskies and Un whisky affreux….! Winner on the night was Scotland, followed by Ireland and Italy

Another superb Lady of the Glen tasting was enjoyed by Stonehaven Whisky Howff yesterday. Once again very well presented by Paul McKendrick. The Caol Ila 10 PX Octave came out tops with special mentions to the Aultmore 11 Rum cask finish & Lochindaal 16 Tawny Port.

Thanks to author Tim Smith for giving a presentation to the Howff on his new book about whisky entrepreneur Joe Hobbs ‘Not Your Average Joe’. Joe had such an extraordinary life and it was great to hear about it. 6 drams, all from distilleries that Joe had owned were enjoyed.

A grand night was had at our February Club Night yesterday. 5 lovely single casks from Bartels Whisky were enjoyed. With the 15Yr old Port Charlotte bourbon cask narrowly pipping the 14Yr old Balblair sherry butt for victory.

Thanks to Russell Brinklow and Gordon & MacPhail for an excellent tasting at the Howff yesterday. We managed to raise £667 for the G&M charity at the event.

Great craic was enjoyed on yesterdays club night at The Marine Hotel. We unveiled & sampled 5 bottles from the wonderful Dornoch Distillery Mystery Malts Series and I think we did rather well with the bottles we received. The Bruichladdich Rhinns coming out on top.

Thanks to Paul Dempsey for a great event at the Howff yesterday. We had super afternoon. The blended Grain surprised and came out tops on the day. Due to the generosity of both Brave New Spirits and those attending, £440 (£550 with gift aid) was raised for Maggie's Centres

Thanks to Andrew Wallace for coming up to Stonehaven and presenting a Springbank tasting to the Howff. All drams were greatly enjoyed. Special thanks to Springbank Whisky for donating the bottles. This allowed us to raise £770 for RNLI Stonehaven Lifeboat.
