For years, Iran has attempted to hide behind proxy terror groups like Hezbollah and Hamas.
But its direct attack on Israel over the weekend was unprecedented.
Today, I told Sumi Somaskanda on BBC News (World) that this was a malicious act, and Israel has the right to defend itself.
Chairman US Rep. Mike Turner to Sumi Somaskanda on BBC News (World):
“All of the conflict in the area really is coming from Iran. Iran has both funded Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis in Yemen who have been attacking commercial traffic lanes, and they’ve been providing them training.”
Chairman US Rep. Mike Turner to Mike Emanuel 🇺🇸 on the House’s reforms to FISA 702:
“We have included an increased reporting requirement, oversight, and criminal penalties which are severe...FISA, having been adopted, was intended to protect Americans. We have now made it stronger.”
Chairman US Rep. Mike Turner:
“Iran is incredibly vulnerable here, both in the weapons production facilities that it used to make the cruise missiles and the drones that were fired at Israel and the ones that they’re giving to Russia that are showing up on the European battleground.”
.Congressman Waltz Press to Maria Bartiromo on Mornings with Maria:
“The biggest way that we could help Israel, help our ally, and actually live up to the rhetoric is to cut off Iran’s cash. We’ve been saying for months that they are exporting more oil than they ever have.”
.Rep. Mike Garcia to Sandra Smith on Fox News:
“We do need to also invest in Israel to make sure they don’t run out of weapons…The amount of bullets that Israel has is a very critical situation, and they’ve got to be able to defend themselves.”
.Congressman Waltz Press on Iran’s missile attack on Israel:
“They did not sustain major civilian casualties despite Iran throwing all of this at them. It was a huge success for Israeli and U.S. and coalition missile defense.”
WATCH: As some Republicans call for the U.S. to strike Iran, House Intel Chair US Rep. Mike Turner says the U.S. shouldn’t engage in military action at Iran “at this point.”
'But I do believe if this administration fails to step up to the plate … we will be in a broader conflict.'
'I don't think at this point' the U.S. should engage directly in military action with Iran, House Intel Chair US Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) tells me this morning on Meet the Press
