Fantastic news - can't wait to see #Hogarth's staircase paintings looking their best again! We know how hard it is to raise this kid of money, so it is a tremendous achievement. Thanks, The National Lottery Heritage Fund
We're so glad you & Sir Walter could join the tea party for the crowd-funding donors Hogarth's House! Superb carving & letter-cutting, based on an 1853 drawing, by Alan Micklethwaite & Tracey Tregidga Micklethwaite who have done the #dog & the #drake proud! alanmicklethwaitesculpture.com
Philanthropist John Passmore Edwards presented a white marble bust of #WilliamHogarth to the new #ChiswickTownHall - not a very good likeness but a magnificent gesture! Hounslow Council
Wonderful, thank you! see #Hogarth's original Hogarth's House
So proud to see the #HogarthsHouse Weston Studio packed with Chiswick Book Festival audienc - a fantastic venue in a #garden setting. Thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund & Garfield Weston Foundation for funding Muberry Garden Project. The garden is an outdoor exhibition of plants & features relating to the site
The Trust sent comments to Hounslow Council on the application for a Food Market in #Chiswick. Though the Licensing Panel listed us with the opposition we just want them to ban food stalls round the Hogarth Statue to avoid cooking grease damaging the bronze & to retain its dignity!
Excellent meeting this afternoon between #WilliamHogarth Trust & senior staff who manage Hogarth's House, exploring future plans & how we could work more closely together. Friendly, creative & we should do it more often!
Thornhill decorated these, probably when he visited the Netherlands in 1711. He wasn't accustomed to painting on ceramics but these are a tour de force and a precious family heirloom - were they ever kept at Hogarth's House #Chiswick where his widow lived with the Hogarths?
Bomb damage at Hogarth's House gave Ithell Colqhoun mis-shapen forms to depict when she lived nearby c 1941. Image of front facade from collection of National Trust, image of rear from London Museum
