I get so much inspiration from talking with students about the transformative power of education and training. At Chemeketa Community College in Oregon, I joined a STEM workforce roundtable with HACU, UnidosUS, and Andrea Salinas, Suzanne Bonamici and Nanette D. Barragán.

The CHIPS & Science Act is bringing major investments to Oregon, but we have to ensure everyone can benefit. I led a roundtable w/ Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Barragán, Suzanne Bonamici, U.S. Commerce Dept., & local leaders about creating opportunities for Latinos in the semiconductor industry.

Investments from the CHIPS and Science Act are boosting Oregon’s semiconductor industry. A skilled and diverse workforce will expand opportunities to those historically left behind, maximize the investment, and grow the industry.

I was glad to join Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chairwoman Nanette D. Barragán, National Institute of Standards and Technology Director Locascio, Susie Feliz, and other academic, non-profit, and business leaders to discuss how to best support and expand opportunities for Latino students and community members.
