Today, Class 1 have been celebrating Chinese New Year. We made and decorated lanterns and practised our origami skills to create a Zodiac rabbit. We had a go at traditional Chinese dancing using ribbons and a dragon and then finished off with noodles and spring rolls 😋

Class 3 have been learning about fold mountains using towels and hands as the earth’s crust and tectonic plates. Hey presto - a mountain range in seconds!

On Thursday, our Infant Ethos Club led a whole school worship based on the story of Jesus Calming The Storm. The children sang, read prayers, acted out the Bible story and reflected on what we can learn from this important story. Everyone did amazingly well.

Our speedy bikers had a great morning at Chorley SSP balance bike festival. The children were amazing, demonstrating fesrless skills and excellent sportsmanship throughout. Well done Class 1

Those Pancakes Were Flippin' Good!

Class 1 have been busy creating telescopes and using them to explore what would happen if we attached different colour glass to them.

Fantastic Footballers Earlier today, our school football team took part in a tournament organised by Chorley FC Despite not qualifying for the final, our team played amazingly well and made us very proud. Well done, Team Heskin!

Bishop of Lancaster: The children thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon with Bishop Jill. She spent time in every class and joined us for a special whole school worship at the end of the day. Thank you for coming to visit us.

Class 1 showed resilience and teamwork in today's Commando Joes challenge. They had to try and move water from the top spout to the bottom, without letting any water escape. We first used balls to understand the best way before moving on to water. 🕷💧💪

Light Class 3 have been constructing a series of electrical circuits using switches and common conductors to identify whether the bulb will light up. They then used this knowledge to design and create their own torches using household recycling.

What a feast we had in Gardening Club today! We harvested our broad beans, sampled our spinach as well as tending to our raddish.🌱🥕🥔🥗🫛

Today, both Class 2 & Class 3 enjoyed a fascinating visit to Quwwatul Islam mosque in Preston. We had a tour around the beautiful mosque, observing how prayer is performed and learnt about the life of a Muslim

Well done to all the candidates who have applied for the House Captain positions at school today! Your speeches were amazing! The polling stations opened shortly afterwards and every pupil submitted their votes. Results to be officially announced on Friday.

This week Class 1 have been listening to Goldilocks and the three bears. They used their stirring and pouring skills to make porridge and most importantly, finishing with the taste tests. It was just right 😋

🍂 Our Harvest celebration 🍂 Thank you so much for the wonderful Harvest Gifts which were donated today. The children worked really hard in preparation for this special festival and it was great to share with so many families who joined us this morning.
