The 18ft hill-top folly White Nancy (cone shaped with finial) was built c1817 by local John Gaskell jr to commemorate the victory at the Battle of Waterloo. It was allegedly named after the horse that had transported the sandstone used to build it. #Bollington

The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah, performed last night at Chester Cathedral by London Concertante and Chester Cathedral Choir and Organ.

Handel supposedly directed the first rehearsal of the Messiah in the Cathedral in 1741 while waiting to sail from Parkgate to Dublin.
