Ewloeās Castle history is a little uncertain. The foundation of the castle is attributed to Llywelyn ap Iorwerth (Llywelyn the Great) sometime after 1210 and built upon around 60yrs later by Llywelyn ap Gruffydd (Llywelyn the Last). #CastleSaturday
The #AdoorableThursday to the former home of Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797) who lived here as a child.
I love finding history plaques which make you stop and think about the people who once lived thereā¦. If these walls could talkā¦.
This green garden is said to overlay the former Llys (court) of Llywelyn ap Gruffud (Llywelyn the Last). It is unknown if one wall of the building was incorporated into the wall but at ground level it is the only section of wall to have window seats. #MedievalMonday

St Winefrideās Chapel and Holy Well #Flintshire . Not a #fontsonfriday but a holy well that is said to have sprung up from the spot where the C7th martyr St Winefrid was brought back to life by St Beuno. The chapel set into the hillside above the spring dates from the late C15th.
