About 30 economists and monitoring and evaluation practitioners from various government ministries were trained this week on the Integrated Planning and Reporting Toolkit (IPRT) to strengthen tracking of the country’s development progress and programme impact.

By integrating data, planning, and reporting systems, it supports evidence-based decision-making and ensures national priorities are effectively linked to resources and implementation.

The training was a joint effort by UNECA & the Ministry of Economic Planning and Development, with technical support from UNDP Eswatini under the Government Cost Sharing facility; an arrangement through which the Government of Eswatini funds UNDP to implement specific projects.

The British High Commissioner to Eswatini, His Excellency Colin Wells, was today briefed on the third edition of Eswatini’s Nationally Determined Contributions by Ms. Duduzile Nhlengethwa-Masina, Director of Meteorology under the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs.

Eswatini was among the first 10 countries to submit its NDC to the UN Climate Change last month. The NDC process was supported under the UNDP Climate Promise through funding from the British Government, in collaboration with the NDC Partnership and the wider UN Eswatini country team.
