We are very saddened to hear that veteran Rev. George Wood has died. George was 19 when he joined the RAF in 1941 & went on to become one of his squadron's most experienced pilots. In later life, the Fund was able to support George by contributing to his care home top-up fees

We are very saddened to hear that Wing Commander Paul Farnes DFM, one of the last remaining #BattleofBritain veterans, has passed away aged 101. Our thoughts are with Paul's family at this difficult time.

Today marks the 75th anniversary of Operation Manna, one of the first humanitarian aid missions carried out by the RAF. The mission was launched to feed the starving people in northern Holland who had been cut off by German occupation. Read more: fal.cn/37NKO
