I enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Whitchurch Canal Festival on Saturday. It was great to see so many people and dogs appreciating the beautiful boats, scenery and weather. And there was a fine selection of cakes in the café!

It's wrong that rural areas have to put up with second-rate services because of Westminster's unfair funding model. It's time that places like North Shropshire got the funding deal they deserve.

There are 22,000 pensioners in North Shropshire who are forecast to lose their Winter Fuel Payment very soon. Many of them live in less well-insulated rural properties which are more expensive to heat. I challenged the Chancellor over this policy earlier today.
