Maine is the first state to enact a comprehensive ban on pesticides including intentionally added PFAS, & pesticides contaminated with PFAS, which goes into effect in 2030. ewg.org/news-insights/… Dr. Kyla Bennett, PEER PEER NPCC PFAS Action Group NH State Rep. Wendy E. N Thomas PFAS Project Lab
Excellent piece by Kyle Bagenstose. The American public needs to understand that the vast majority of the chemicals in commerce HAVE NOT GONE THROUGH RISK ASSESSMENTS. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's safe. theguardian.com/environment/20…
Please watch this short video on #PFAS in #plastic containers...I am so grateful to esmé e. deprez and Bloomberg for telling this story. youtube.com/watch?v=a-Hu4H…
My latest research was just published in Environmental Science & Technology Journals Letters! Perfluoroalkyl Sulfonamides (FASA) are persistent precursor #PFAS that bioaccumulate to a greater extent than #PFOS in fish downstream of AFFF-contaminated sites URI STEEP Superfund Harvard SEAS pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
On Tuesday, April 9 at 5pm EST, myself along with 7 other PhD candidates at Harvard University will present brief, compelling talks about our research at Sanders Theatre, for the 2024 Harvard Horizons Symposium. Tune into the livestream here: youtube.com/watch?v=Jm2KuT…
Final paper of my PhD is now published open access in Environmental Science & Technology Journals! We assessed #PFAS contamination in fishes downstream of an #AFFF-impacted military base and found that high levels of #PFOS and AFFF-precursors accumulate in fishes far from point sources. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
Recent news article shares the work of former STEEP trainee Heidi Pickard. Heidi shares her research on concerning PFAS levels in fish and shellfish species collected on Cape Cod miles away from large contamination source. #pfas #niehs #superfund seas.harvard.edu/news/2024/10/c…
