The best leaders are constant learners. Staying static in learning creates an atmosphere devoid of innovation, best practices and growth. Education is a field where new ideas, concepts and theories are always being presented. #MSUM635

A2 Staff meetings can be a useful tool in PD using the 10 minute inservice model. This is a great time (with the whole staff present) to present meaningful reminders and introduce new learning in a quick format without the preconceived notion of “PD”. #msum635

A3. Our learning opportunities are aligned to what the PD team has identified are the district needs. Typically our Director of Teaching and Learning facilitates the PD and requires a reflection or exit ticket after the presentation. #msum635

A4. An area of strength would be my desire to continue learning and implementing new strategies within the classroom. I love to learn! Focusing on student outcomes rather than the strategies used to get there is imperative. Everyone has their own style of learning. #msum635

A4 Pt 2 An area of growth would be feeling the confidence to model the strategies and the teacher I aspire to be to the staff. The lead learner needs to be able to influence teachers to be better. #msum635

Today, I told my students "Here's how I'm going to grade your tests: I look at it, tell you what to fix, you fix it, and I'll give you an A. We're in a pandemic. Life is stressful as it is, and my goal isn't to stress you out even more."

A2 Balancing leadership and management is vital because so many different facets of the school depend on each style. #msum640

A3. I think all administrators (and other school personnel) have so many new priorities-to think about, it’s almost unfathomable!! Having to be on top of COVID procedures and outbreaks along with worrying about kids at home is all consuming! #msum640

A4 Our counselors meet weekly to assess student needs. The principal meets with the crisis team to determine what supplies are needed. #msum640

Public schools are not failing students. Public school teachers are not failing students. The system is failing public schools, teachers and students. Stop saying public schools and teachers are failing students when the system is setting them up to fail.
