PSA: update on Switch technical issues. We are now sure we are doing something the 4.x firmware does not like at all. Because we developed and tested in 3.x, it caught us by surprise. We have a couple of ideas on what might be causing it and hopefully we'll have news tomorrow.

PSA: Apparently there's an Unity threading bug that causes random crashes in otherwise working projects on Switch. We strongly believe we are being hit by this, because the crashes are very random. We passed certification because of sheer luck of the crashes not triggering.

We will work on a patch to try to minimize the incidence of this, but it WILL NOT be solved, just less frequent and hopefully not frequent enough so that the game can be played (I just beat it testing). This patch will need to pass certification, so it's still some time off.

After that we need to wait for the engine fix from Unity (they are working on it) to be able to fully solve this in all cases. But this is really outside of our control.

This final fix will come, but the timing is uncertain. However we hope the interim fix solves most issues (we'll be testing the first week of January and get back to you with the results)

PSA: Update on the fixes for the Switch version of #Heart&Slash. We have ported the game to a new beta version of Unity and so far, after 6 hours of testing, we haven't had a single crash. So right now we are hopeful this new version does indeed fix the bug we were hitting.

Of course, we need to keep testing to make sure. But things look good. If we confirm the problem is fixed then we need to wait for the beta to go gold (so we can submit) and for the patch to be approved. So we cant yet say when the patch will finally be out.

This is frustrating for us too, and we know it's been a month since the game was released. But the fix seems to work and we'll be ready to get it out as soon as we are allowed.

PSA: still a couple things to check, but we are looking at tentatively submitting a patch next week. Finally! I will confirm early next week.

PSA: we have looked at what's missing and can now be 100% confident we will submit the patch to our publisher this week. How long it takes after that to appear on everybody's Switch we don't know yet, but hopefully will be fast. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE!!!!

Small caveat: due to the nature of the crashes we can't be 100% sure they are all gone. We will keep testing and monitoring Twitter for other issues that might come up, but we tested for about 20 hours this last few days and saw no crashes.

We have decided to release ASAP so you guys can play a much more stable version (even in the worst case scenario). Rather than prolong the wait. We will keep you informed of any future fixes should any be needed.

PSA: Heart&slash's Switch patch is finally out. It should fix the vast majority of problems. There might still be uncommon crashes still there. We haven't seen any, but it's hard to test since they were somewhat randon. Let us know if anything is iffy so we can get to fix it ASAP
