With his appearances limited by the consistent and rarely injured John Faulkner, Steve left to join Minnesota Kicks in 1976, and after a brief spell at Northampton, eventually emigrated to the US for good.

James Stephenson was born OTD in 1891.

Born in Ashington, James came to Luton in 1911 on the recommendation of his friend Sammy Wightman. He stayed loyal after relegation in 1912 and finished as top scorer but financial problems forced his sale at season's end.
