Jack Ball was born OTD in 1907. A proven goal poacher who, though being short in stature, was good in the air and scored 30 goals in 31 League games in 34/35 before an ankle injury cut back his appearances the following season. He is pictured watching Joe Payne rise for a header

⏪OTD 1913 Town began their second season in the Southern League 2nd Division, which is filled with long forgotten football outposts such as Abertillery, Ton Pentre, Caerphilly and Stoke. A 1-0 win against Mardy does little to impress 'The Goalie'.

⏪Our last win on this day came in 1991, when the returning Mick Harford scored twice as Town came from behind to beat Oldham Athletic 2-1.

⏪OTD 1929 Andy Rennie's 1st and 3rd goals in the 4-0 win at Vicarage Road. It was one of Ratty's 10 hat-tricks, a number bettered only by Ernie Simms (11) and Gordon Turner (14). Joe Payne and Mick Harford are the only other players to score a hat-trick against Watford.
