2 ਜੂਨ 1984 ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫੌਜ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਿਹਾ, ਫੌਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰਫਿਊ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਸੀਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਆਉਣ-ਜਾਣ 'ਤੇ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਰੋਕ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ । ਸੰਚਾਰ ‘ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਟੈਲੀਫੋਨ ਲਾਈਨਾਂ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ
