ROPE RESCUE: Oakville Fire Dept rescued ‘Sparky’ a 3 y/o golden retriever & his owner during almost 2 hour high-angle rope rescue, after the pair became stranded partway down a 60’ steep muddy embankment in a remote section of Sixteen Mile Creek Trail. Both unijured, but thirsty!

I saw this awhile back and it’s, of course, brilliant. I wanted to break it down to step more basic than this and throw in a few more swears but Rob’s video here is fantastic.

The good news: A new therapy for ALS is with Health Canada for review. The bad news: The review will take 1 year as the priority 6-month review was rejected. Please reconsider, Health Canada and PHAC. ALS patients don’t have the luxury of time. #EndALS

Pooh wandered into the Hundred Acre Wood, and was standing in front of what had once been Owl’s House. It didn’t look at all like a house now; it looked like a tree which had been blown down; and as soon as a house looks like that, it is time to find another one. ~A.A.Milne
