Horrific news that MNDAA soldiers have shot and killed six unarmed people protesting gold mining operations in northeastern #Myanmar. Natural resources are increasingly being sacrificed in post coup conflict, with communities paying the price. There must be accountability.

An appeal court ruling has entrenched a dangerous precedent for peaceful climate protesters in the UK, despite slightly reducing jail terms for some climate protesters. My blog explains why.

RFA does amazing reporting in the most difficult conditions in this region - especially Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia. We rely on them a lot - this is a real blow to us, to transparency accountability in Asia, to keeping people informed about what’s really going on. Very sad.

The junta is already using the earthquake as a distraction to target the resistance, and exploiting the humanitarian crisis to gain int'l legitimacy. Meanwhile people are still pulling loved ones from the rubble with their bare hands. Disgraceful.
