AGM, lunch, then site visit to Furnace!!! TN33 9PG - the final Wealden furnace to close in 1813.

Yesterday: footpath along bay of Mill pond, orig dug for Rowfant Forge in 1556 by Robert Whitfield. Old PC towards bay. Later the site was converted to a cornmill, one of the Heasmans' (East Grinstead) mills. Beautiful place. TQ316378

Went to Bexhill Museum for the first time yesterday. Absolute delight to see LS Lowry’s ‘Old Windmill, Bexhill, East Sussex (Hoad's Mill)’ (1960) in the flesh.

And the rest of the museum was really interesting too - so much on display, not just in terms of the number of objects…
