Look what arrived in the mail @Books2Cover just in time for #PhotoFriday! I'm so excited to read (& review for H-War) this new book by Maria Bucur about veterans' rights in interwar Romania! She examines veterans, widows, & orphans.

I recorded this 9 years ago. “The citizens of the Southern states were willing to fight and die to preserve a morally repugnant institution.” Slavery. Shout out to the US Army (with 179k Black soldiers) for destroying slavery, freeing 4m from bondage, and saving the USA! Huzzah!
