HMS BANGOR was privileged to host Commander Operations, Rear Admiral Edward Ahlgren OBE, in one of his last official engagements.

He addressed the crew, speaking about the importance of our presence in the area and the wider Royal Navy in the Region.

The newly named crew celebrated taking charge of the ship with a cake baked by our very own chefs, cut by our two youngest sailors onboard who happen to share a birthday! 🎂🧑‍🤝‍🧑

On our recent patrol in the Gulf we spotted a Loggerhead turtle 🐢 entangled in fishing gear. We launched a sea boat 🚤and managed to remove the floats and nets wrapped around its neck before disposing of the material and setting the turtle free. 🌊

During routine maritime security operations, we sailed alongside our sister ship HMS Middleton and merchant shipping in the Gulf. 🤝🚢
