Today marks the 5th anniversary of #HongKong 612 incident. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, today Hongkongers have lost the right to protest. Yet there are many who haven’t forgotten and are still fighting for our beloved homeland. We vow to remain defiant.

In a rainstorm, #HongKongers mourned Marco Leung Ling-kit on the 5th anniversary of his fatal fall. One of the mourners was dressed in his iconic #YellowRaincoat. Simple acts like this have become ever more risky in HK, but it was so rainy, the police were nowhere to be seen.

勿忘勿失 Five years ago the Hong Kong police blocked exits to Prince Edward station, stopped the train, and indiscriminately beat members of the public. Five years later, no accountability. I’ll join friends in Trafalgar Square later today to remember.

An open letter has been sent earlier today by members of the UK-Hong Kong civil society to Keir Starmer regarding the recent sentencing of Hong Kong 45. As PM, leader of Labour Party and a human rights lawyer, his lack of actions have disappointed us all in the UK.
